Currently serving as the Director of Technology of the School of Education at Pace University, I have over 25 years of applied experience, 20 years of higher level technical support experience. I am a skilled trainer, proficient at training and professional development either in one-on-one sessions, large groups or online workshops. I have experience implementing enterprise wide solutions, project management, consulting as well as in marketing, website design and site maintenance.
At the age of 16 I had my first foray into the world business as an event planner and promoter. However, at an early age, I knew I wanted to do something creative with my hands. I had a passion for painting and drawing and the progression to graphic design felt natural. Just after high school I co-founded my first company, RJ Systems which was my first venture into the world of custom built computer systems and graphic design services. This experience later landed me a job with Ciba-Geigy Corporation in the Creative Services, Public Affairs and Communications Department, while continuing to build computers, attend class and work at the University.
During my early years at Pace I have developed a unique prospective of Pace University and higher education in general working in a variety of different office. I gain invaluable experience working in the Computer Resource Center and the Registrar’s Office. I then accepted a position with Information Technology Services where I acquired a wealth of knowledge with enterprise wide solutions, data retention and recovery and the importance of information technology safety and security. This would give me the necessary skill set for my current role with the School of Education. During this time I would go on to Co-Found Black Rhino Marketing Solutions, Inc. and I am the founder and current Creative Director of Cyberian Creative Solutions.
Over the past couple years I have been working on implementing a number of keys initiatives for the School of Education.
One of these solutions is TeachLiveTM. As one of the original ten schools to implement TeachLivETM I have worked directly with the University of Central Florida on the installation and implementation of the program at Pace University. Building out two physical classroom labs and two mobile laptop solutions for the University. I have lead the project since its inception at Pace University. And as the primary point of contact I have developed a unique understanding of the program and have foster a strong professional relationship with the team at UCF. This relationship has afforded us the opportunity to be a early adopter of different aspects of the technology prior to release to the remaining partners. I have also designed and developed the session request website, assisted with course content and manage the project for the University. The School of Education is one of only 28 schools in the world with the avatar virtual classroom technology, TeachLiveâ„¢, and the only School with four avatar labs, including two mobile labs solutions that can be set up anywhere.
Simultaneously to managing TeachLiveTM I managed to research, review, planned and implement a school wide assessment system. After months and research, review and sandbox access I recommended and we adopted LiveTextTM as or assessment solution. As the only constant during the implementation of this solution I ran into a few challenges as the project manager. But was able to keep the project on track through the resignation of the Assessment Coordinator and continued faculty resistance. I developed an implementation path, including potential questions and concerns, workshops, technical logistics and training material. My knowledge of hardware cost and the human aspects of information technology, I have a unique understanding of the concerns of the end user conflicting to the financial concerns present at Pace University. And we selected the best solution and plan that is a complimentary partnership between available resources and funding yet did not compromise on all of the functionality.
I recognition of my unique ability to understand the different aspects of these projects and the difficulties in implementation combined with a innate gift to transfer that knowledge I have been ask to speak at a number of conferences. I continue to work with my hand and develop a multitude of different creative designs in different industries from medical to massage. I also continue to consult speaking with individuals and\or organizations getting them to drop the illusions and see things without the distortion created by their own thoughts.
